Our Blended Worship service at 10:00am in the Sanctuary is a mixture of contemporary and traditional elements for all ages. It features many instruments and music styles and incorporates a time for children in each service.
A time during the service where the children come to the front of the sanctuary and sit with the pastor for a children's sermon. This is enjoyed by the children as well as the adults!
This is a special time where preschoolers and elementary children get to experience a worship time just for them. This is where they focus on God and experience Children's Worship through uplifting songs, games, crafts and memorable Bible lessons.
Offered on the first Sunday of each month, Taize (tah-ZAY) style of service is primarily meditative but blends music, word and silence together. It is both a communal and yet a largely individual activity. Taize services are different than a traditional worship service. In a traditional worship service there is certainly time for meditation and personal prayer, as well as Scripture reading, but his service is aimed at that purpose. It is drawing you into the mood and the ambiance of the experience, to facilitate an encounter with God.
These services appeal to those whose busy week leaves them eager not for the enthusiasm of a praise team, but for a quiet worship setting. They especially appeal to teens and young adults who yearn for traditional Christian values in fresh new settings. This service encourages personal spiritual growth and feeds the soul. The liturgy is primarily for the worship of God, but it is also meant to quiet the soul. The quietness does not happen at once, but gradually during the worship. There is repetition in the words of the music, there are periods of silence, and the readings are read slowly, all so that we may have a deep quiet grow in our hearts. Then we may be still and be at peace in the presence of God.
